Science Project Phases:

       Phase I: (5 points)

·       Choose 3 possible topics or projects that you would be willing to conduct. We will narrow it to one that you will complete this year. (DUE SEPTEMBER 25TH)

Phase II: (10 points)

·       Submit details as to how you will conduct your project (i.e., List the statement of the problem, hypothesis, and explain in detail how you will test your hypothesis including the materials needed). (DUE JANUARY 14TH)

Phase III: (5 points)

·       Complete Science Fair Entry Form and turn into me by (DUE FRIDAY, MARCH 23RD).

Phase IV: (100 points)

·       You will complete your science fair display at home by FRIDAY, APRIL 30TH and enter it in the science fair at the Endeavour Center (located at Manzanita Charter School, MPR) on either FRIDAY, APRIL 30TH or SATURDAY, MAY 1ST. DO NOT BRING IT TO VMS IF YOU ARE GOING TO THE SCIENCE FAIR. Take it directly to the science fair on the day that you signed up.

·       You will present your project at the science fair, which includes telling the judges and Mr. Coski about your problem or question, the benefit(s) of solving the problem, the procedure you followed, and your findings (or conclusion).

·       If you are not able to participate in the Science Fair because of conflict on both dates, you must do the following:

1.  Turn in your completed science project with the display board to Mr. Coski in room B4 at VMS on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28TH.

2.  Submit a note with a parent signature, by FRIDAY, APRIL 23RD, indicating why you cannot make it to the science fair.
